Dear everyone.
Hope + Past perfect / Hoped + Past perfect

I wish you are great!
I'd love to ask you if this grammatical construction is correct (check the title). Would you please tell me the meaning and tell me if there's some kind of restriction I should bear in mind.

two examples would be:
I hope I hadn't made you upset when we argued yesterday. (I made her upset)
I hope he had had a good time at yesterday's party. (He didn't enjoy the party)

Thank you so much!

    1) I hope I *didn’t* *make* you upset......

    2) This one is more tricky, you could say it different ways depending on the situation, but on a basic level, it sounds like you want to say
“I hope he had a good time at yesterday's party.” (“had had” is not correct here - only one “had” is needed)
On the other hand, you could say “I hoped/had hoped that he had had a good time at yesterday’s party.” (Yo esperaba/había esperado que él había (disfrutado de / pasado bien) la fiesta ayer).

No olvidar que esperar va seguido de subjuntivo en español. Yo esperaba que él hubiese disfrutado de la fiesta.
