English - Canada
I was wondering how one would define housekeeper in Filipino. I'm talking about a person employed to perform cleaning and other domestic tasks in a hotel. I'm not talking about a domestic servant. Is it tagapangalaga ng bahay? I'm hoping not because it's such a long word. Are there any shorter versions of the word housekeeper? Thank you very much for your attention to this matter and I look forward to your response.

    You may choose from these:
Kasambahay/Katulong - person who does the cleaning, cooking sometimes coupled with taking care of kids. First option is better as it is formal sounding and not degrading.
Katiwala /caretaker - does cleaning and cooking if included on the agreement. Sometimes managing a business/house or property.Definitely doesn't include taking care of kids.
