One of the example sentences in English is wrong, I think. “...having made a heavy loss.” That should be “...having taken a heavy loss.”

    Thanks for your message. Personally, I think I'd be more inclined to say having made a heavy loss than having taken a heavy loss. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if a loss is really something you make or take. So, I decided to change it to "...having suffered a heavy loss" - you'll see that online when the dictionary is next updated.
